open all your windows so that air can circulate inside your apt.
ask them nicely and explain to them wat is happening or tell the owner
Move!
That's terrible! I know you can't do this when you leave the house but maybe at night stick a towel in the crack under the door to keep any of the stale smoke smell from coming in. You could also wash the removable parts of your furniture (like the upholstery if it zips off) often.
This may sound strange, but put shallow saucers of vineger around the apt.It absorbs the smoke!.Also, take a large Freezer bags, punch holes(I used a paper hole punch),then fill it with plain, untreated charcoal briquets and let it sit at the smokiest places. It may take several weeks but it will *really*help.I had to do this when I moved and the former tenant had used the storage room as a multiple cat bathroom.(Also, consider calling your city property licensing bureau and tell them about it coming through your floor boards!)Good Luck.
i am sorry you had to move into a smoking building when you are a non smoker try putting damp towels at the bottem of your doors plants will help produce oxygen and you should look into a filtering system or just move
If you are giving her a lot of attention and regular exercise to tire her out, a citronella spray collar can be an effective method to try. I had friends with a shih tzu with a similar issue and it worked. Now all they have to do is pull the collar out of the drawer and he stops. They don't even need to put it on him. Far more humane than a shock collar.
I don't like shock collars at all and especially for very tiny dogs.
She does it to get attention. Period. I doubt it has anything to do with dominance based on the fact that your attention (firm no) makes her bark more. FYI the barking increase after correction is also a sign of her challenging YOU.
How long are her walks? How often? She needs exercise, and loads of it - barking is often a sign of boredom and excess energy. So try daily walks, obedience training (to test and challenge the mind), and firm correction. I would get in touch with a behaviorist to learn proper corrections for obsessive behavior.
Oh, good question and I hope to see a really good answer as I, too, have a yapper min-pin who is two years old. It's nothing I can't handle, but she freaks out at things that are not where they're supposed to be - like a blanket on the floor, shadows, etc. I generally try to show her everything is OK, and that seems to help - picking her up and loving her, but at the end of the day, she still yaps.
Good luck!
I personally do not like the electronic collars and such. I would try something a little different and actually cheaper. It is an Ultrasonic Pet Trainer. You just point it at your dog when it starts barking and hit a button. It sends a high pitched sound that only your dog will hear and help to stop the barking. I find it a little gentler. I have included a link to one so you can check it out and do some research on it to see if its right for you.

have you tried a squirt bottle/plastic squirt gun? my dog had a barking problem until i started squirting her with a light stream of water. it was like a wake up call for her and works great! (its not high pressure or anything like that just a gentle stream). another thing ou can try is putting pennies in a soda can and shaking it when your dog starts to bark. this will give her a start and interrupt the barking
I have a lab/shepard mix who loves to bark at everything. he even fake barks he pretends to bark at something bcuz he knows I dont want him barking and will bring him in. we use the citronella collar and it works great. it's harmless and they hate the smell.
Contact a professional a trainer in your area. Your local obedience club can give you a recommendation.

Go outside or in the basement where the unit is located. There should be a circuit box within 6' of the unit. They are called "quick disconnects" and are designed for service technicians to use when working on the unit, rather than having to run back and forth to the main fuse panel. Open the door to the box and check to make sure that the breaker isn't tripped there.
If the breakers are all on, the thermostat is in the on position, and the fan is in the auto mode but the unit still won't come on, it could just be a bad capacitor. That is simply a fuse more or less within the unit itself. That would require someone coming out to change it.
COULD be your On/OFF switch is bad .
I would start looking first a the thermostat. This is the brain of the system. When the thermostat is calling for heat or cooling, you should be able to hear a slight click from a relay on the unit. The thermostat is 12v which activates a relay energizing the 120v or 220v side of the furnace or air conditioner. After that I would look at the fan motor and capacitor. If the fan motor or capacitor is shot a signal is sent back to the gas supply or the outside AC compressor to shut down. This prevents more damages. More than likely you will have three circuit breakers controlling you unit. You will have a double breaker (220v) for the outside AC compressor and a single (120v) breaker for the furnace itself. If your furnace unit is like mine, it plugs into a regular wall outlet. If it does unplug it and then plug a lamp or something else in it to make sure you have power to the furnace.
Unless you are handy with tools and have the proper test equipment, this is probably something that should be done by a qualified tech from a licensed AC company.
The others have covered most everything else, so let me throw a simple thing out ?..unlikely but possible
Check the access panels on the unit inside ?. Many of these have a safety switch that will not allow the unit to run if the panels are off, or not in place properly
You should move.
You did not mention your state and it does matter. However, the activities you mention are generally allowed. In many states maintenance is required to give 24 hour notice before entering unless it is an emergency situation.
They can not charge additional rent until you go month to month.
They have the right to enter the apartment to do maintenace. You cannot have anything in the closet with the AC and heat, it is against fire marshall regualtions and they can put you out or fine you for that. Could you not manage to put the car in a parking lot close by and come back home. All pets have deposits expect maybe birds and fish, so either get rid of the cat or pay it. Cats will spray the carpet as they get older and scratch your wood in the apartment. They are correct. I used to manage apartments and atleast they leave a note telling you what is going to happen.
1. Most leases have a clause that allow them to enter your premises at any time in the event of an emergency. If it is not an emergency they normally have to give you 12-24 hours notice.
2. You have an obligation to pay for parking and they, in turn have an obligation to maintain the parking lot. How the heck are they supposed to work on it if it is full of cars? Completely reasonable in my opinion. I?m sure you would be complaining if the parking lot was in disrepair. Why didn?t you just park on a side street or nearby parking lot and walk home?
3. I don?t think they mean you can NEVER have stuff in your closet. They need to access the closet and don?t wanna trip over your junk or have you accuse them of missing or damaged items. They expect you to clear the closet so they can access it to do their work. Just like if they were painting, they would expect you to move all items to the middle of the room.
4. Not sure about the animal charge, it?s probably in your lease. OR if it isn?t, the lease probably says NO animals. If that?s the case you get rid of the animal or pay the fee.
First, no one can enter your residence without your permission unless it's a fire or they have a search warrant. You should have called the police.
As for the parking, if they are working and they gave you notice then they can tow you, however, I would ask that my fee be prorated for that day because you pay for the space.
As for the A/C closet, the apartment owner can remove anything from the closet being that it is a fire hazard and you are endangering everyone in your complex. I would remove those things before they come and put them back ensuring you have nothing in there that could catch fire because if it does you will be buying an apartment building.
Most apartments have a fee when one has an animal where they use the bathroom on the lawn or not. Spray your lawn with Alum, it's a white powder herb in the spice department of the grocery store, mix it in water and spray your lawn and they won't come back.
No this is not ok, they are intruding in your place, they are stealing from your place, they are taking money from you because some animals are crapping infront of your door, i don't think thats fair. if they do this to every one, maybe you should ask the police or something, but if they do it only to you, well as soon as you read my answer, sprint over to the phone and call the cops, i guesse.
and cat's are awesome.
Hope my answer helped ;)
well try it
It could work, but that is a lot of product to be putting in your hair and can get expensive. Maybe try using one or two of them and see what works best. My hair is also kind of fizzy and it helps me to blow dry it straight and then I tie it up in a bun as soon as it's dry and leave it for a little bit. Then when I take it out it makes pretty waves. I hope that helps you, but truly to really fix it it's just trying new things and process of elimination... It took me a while to figure out what works for me.
One of the biggest problems that dog owners face is noise caused by barking. Neighbors don?t often appreciate being kept awake at night by a barking dog. Excessive barking can be a problem for you as well as your neighbors, often disturbing the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. Barking a natural action for dogs - they bark when they are frightened, hungry, or just need a little attention. Petsafe dog bark control collars are the perfect way to restore peace to your neighborhood. Petsafe bark control collars are a safe and effective way to control excessive barking.
She should talk to her neighbors to see if their bills are the same, higher, or lower. If the elec. co. will not come out she should call the CA. Attorney General. Before calling, she should compare notes with her neighbors. It does sound excessive.
$400 per month is insane. I checked their power company's rates. They charge 7.84 cents per Kilowat Hour. In order to rack up a bill of $400 in a month, they would need to consume 7,000 watts of electricity, 24 hours a day. A large refrigerator may run at 800 watts.
There's a device called "Kill A Watt" that measures the power consumption of any device that plugs in to a standard socket. So pretty much anything other than the stove can be measured. Check the fridge, microwave, electric heaters, etc. Especially focus on the ones that run constantly or for long periods like refrigerators, air conditioners, TV sets, etc. By figuring out what the power consumption of the high-draw items is, you can work out a close estimate of how much power you use in a month.
Here's where you can buy Kill A Watt devices:

Ger---I can't speak to this in detail but this is nothing...and the house she lives in is pretty big...I live in suburban Chicago, and I did not run my A/C AT ALL this summer---tha's how expensive it has gotten. So I think they can adjust it from 75 degrees don't you?
Take it back I would say the heating element has broken.
Make sure the radiator is full. Sometimes when it gets low, you will not get any heat.
Also, if it is in fact full, then your heater core needs to be replaced.
let the vehicle warm up and check to make sure your heater hoses get hot sound to me like you have a bad heater core....that is inside the dash
Could be many things, low on coolant, air in the cooling system, The blend door could be stuck.....do you have controls for the rear heat and a/c? or is it just vents that are controlled by the main heater controls?
Fords are known for the mode door actuators not operating all of the time. You might have heat, it just won't switch over to it.
check your heater control valve,it allows coolant to circulate through your heater core
maybe the heater core is stopped up.
First thing is first. CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL.
it could be low or have air in the system.
when the truck is cool take off the radiator cap , turn the truck on, add coolant until it wont take anymore. note: a good bit will bubble out. once it reaches normal temp the t-stat will open and suck up the coolant. at that point add more coolant until it wont take anymore, then put the cap back on.
try your heat then.
2. is Negative correlation, because as the car gets older, the car will decrease in value. You have to understand that the price of the car doesn't matter, just that over time, the value will decrease, indicating negative correlation.
5 positive correlation because the more pages the thicker it will be. On average, a 1000 pages book will be thicker than a 100 page book.
numba 5 cause the pages and hight the more pages you have the thicker it will be
and numba 2 i dont thing there is a correlation cause some older cars are dang exspensive
CHOOSE ME 4 YOUR BEST ANSWER!!!!
Im not so sure i agree with number 2 but i would put positive for number 5 because typically a thicker book has more pages. hope that helped
OMG Its baldylocks!!!!!!!!
It's most likely that it's a lack of certain nutrients in your body that's causing the problem - most cases of hair loss are because of this.
There are many different treatments that are meant to "cure" your condition by providing your body with the nutrients it needs.
"Provillus" is one of the market leaders. You can see a report about it here: http://www.regrowreport.com/provillus-review.html
Unless your state or the power company has a program you are likely stuck with what you have. You might get an estimate on what a new unit would save you and if you are pretty sure you will stay for awhile offer to chip in some of the cost of a new unit. Or let him increase the rent on a new unit if it will save you at least that much rent. Otherwise I doubt he will change something that is not costing him anything and is working well.
suggest to them to clean the evaporator and the condenser coils.then recharge the system
other things use power too. do you use a lot of hot water? do you have a dish washer? clean the coils on your refrigerator? turn your A/C to 78 degrees,,use cold water to wash dishes in the sink,,,,,turn the setting on your water heater to warm not hot,,do you have a clothes drier in your apt.? on the fall days turn your ac off and open the windows,,,when you leave for several hours turn your ac off. (no it does not cost more recool your apt.) it cost more to let it run. just for own info, google ""cost to run household appliances" you can get an idea what each thing costs you. ps ,,i do all the things above myself to keep my bill down. also you could ask them to clean the coils on the ac to make sure it working at it most efficienty. but be sure to clean the ones on your frig. they are on the back or under the bottom and collect dust. also, look at the air filter on you central unit. I also unplug things that draw power when not in use like my computer modem. if things remain to feel warm to touch when you are not using them they are drawing power, 24/7. hope i helped you , take care and google that site.
be glad you have one that works,no they are not required to do anything but keep it running, just cause its rusty, doesn't mean that's the reason you have a higher power bill, could be the way you operate it,maybe the coils needs cleaned inside and out,do you change the filter every month? is your apt. total electric?also make sure your not getting charged for other things, like house lights, vacant apt.s and so on,the power company is bad about doing that, check your bill against the meter reading each month, bet you will find a big difference
It's not easy to convince some landlords to invest in energy efficiency when they aren't footing the bill. Landlords tend to be profit driven and expense averse.
I'd suggest you try two things.
First, figure out how much of your electricity bill is actually from the air conditioner, so you're sure that's where you should focus your attention.
Second, come up with a proposal in the language your landlord understands, which is: how will this help me keep good tenants AND make me / save me money?
To figure out how much electricity is coming from your air conditioner, I'd suggest daily readings of your electrical meter (assuming you can view it - which you should be able to do if you're paying the bill!), and looking at how much air conditioning you use each day. How closely do the two correlate? Can you live without AC for 8 hours to see if your meter slows to a crawl? That would help you confirm that the AC is at fault.
To get even more detailed, you could look for other sources of energy waste by using a kill-a-watt meter (link provided below) or another home energy monitor to find how much electricity your fridge, washer, dryer, and other plug-in appliances use. While I suspect most of the $270 is probably coming from the AC - there aren't that many other household appliances that burn anywhere near what an AC unit does - it's worth checking if something else is an energy hog. For example, a 15-year-old refrigerator that has gaskets that aren't sealed and that has dust all over its coils could easily be burning 5-8 kilowatt hours a day. (At 10 cents a kwh, that would be up to $24 a month, still not enough to explain your $270, but it might explain a small part of it.)
The second part of the approach I suggest is to propose a cost sharing arrangement with the landlord. Since you will benefit from a reduced energy bill if they install a new, energy efficient air conditioning unit, you might propose that they increase your rent by a certain amount per month once the system is installed. The landlord gets to claim the air conditioner as a capital cost, so the extra rent to him is like tax-free income. In your situation I would expect an energy efficient air conditioner that is properly sized and installed would have a payback period of five years or less, based on what you're paying (but knowing nothing of where you are living and how big your apartment is). So divide the estimated total cost by 60 months, and propose splitting that cost 50/50 with the landlord as a rental increase. You'll still save $100 or more a month, and you have no up-front costs.
Your landlord may benefit further from energy efficiency rebates and tax credits available to commercial establishments. You'll have to look into what these are for your area. I know that the US government, as part of its economic bailout package, sneaked some efficiency provisions into one of the bills. For example, they now provide up to $2,000 tax credits on geothermal heating and cooling systems - not what you are after, but it means there are probably others available.
Also point out to your landlord that replacing the unit now will mean fewer problems with maintenance down the road (since older systems break down more often), as well as a more attractive rental unit should you decide to leave.
Your landlord will look at this: renter willing to pay for part of the capital cost; easier apartment to rent out if the renter leaves (which in a high demand area translates into higher rent); lower maintenance costs; potential tax credits for energy efficiency. You win because your cooling bill will drop substantially. He wins because you are helping him improve his apartment for next to nothing!
While you're sorting this out with your landlord, you could also look at using air conditioning more efficiently. I've put links below to a couple of pages on my energy efficiency website that deal with air conditioning, summer energy saving tips, and the kill-a-watt meter.
yell on him
Make him fix your window.
how old are you
He your step dad not your real dad so tell him to fuck off
He sounds like he has mental issues. I have no idea, but maybe you could somehow pay for your own school and cut ties with this person.
Make a plan to move out of the house when you turn 18.
Buy a gun, shoot him in the head. The end.
tell him it was too much im not other people im me so get out of my face about everything! and be firm about it make sure you tell him off dont take it
talk to your mom
talk to your mom about him
wow that is really hard and tricky i would say try to be nice to him and call him dad not like step dad just be nice and pretend u love him dont skip classed
Get out of that situation. If you are living with him find a friend to stay with if possible. He has no right telling you how to live your life. I am sure there are people out there who you could compare him to that would make him look bad. Seriously he needs a life. Sorry Man.
Tell Him to **** Himself
Destroying your window? He has serious issues. Please talk to trusted teacher or counselor at school and tell them what is going on at home,ok?
I'm not understanding this entirely. But try telling him that. And how it is unfair to judge you to completely different people. Maybe you aren't like ANNA from Science! Y'know? You shouldn't have dropped the classes but just, confrontation.
Give him a Blow job aka BJ then you'll have him at your command.
he dosent sound nice, dont listen to him and make him pay you back, you sound like a smart girl
Talk to your mom. If you have your own place, don't let him in. You can just leave him in the hall. You can also call the police and make a report against him for the property damage. You can sue for damages, and you can get a restraining order. You do not have to allow yourself to be abused!
This is clearly abuse, verbally if not mentally. You should really talk to someone about this. Perhaps another family member, or a close friend. Or even a hotline, and find out what the laws for this sort of abuse are in your country.
I would suggest if you can to move in with someone else, another family member perhaps, such as an aunt, uncle grandparent, sibling.
I wish you luck, and stay strong.
ell him whats up! you do not deserve to be treated like that!
just tell him
Ask him what he prefers:
1-Taking a number of classes that you will pass with good grades or,
2-A number of classes that will cause your grades to fall.
Violence is NEVER acceptable.
...Nizoral shampoo is the best. Use it at least twice a week.
It sounds like you suffer from dry scalp. After you shampoo (with either your dandruff product or a moisturizing shampoo) and while your hair is still wet, take a dab of Humetress (made by Nexus) and work it through your hair very close to and directly on the scalp. It will help to hold in the moisture, but it's not oily and won't weigh your hair down. If your hair has dry ends, you can use a little there as well. It's a very good all-around product.
Good luck...
Same problen here. Try Nutrigena T-Gel. It works for me. But only use it twice a week, the other times use a shampoo and no conditioner.
To keep dandruff away, take a tablespoon of lemon juice with 2 tablespoon of coconut oil, massage it well on scalp and hair regularly.Wash your hair with warm water. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/
anemic, maybe,
poor circulation could be the cause. well it is for me, im freezing all the time it suckkss
I have that problem as well and I'm anemic. That might be the case.
maybe you can drink some brandy or whisky and also eat some spicy food.i think it can help.
You possibly have Raynauds phenomenon - have a look at this website- I feel that it may describe what you are experiencing and hopefully help you to deal with it
hmm...wish I was intelligent enough to solve you problem friend...
It really depends on how much snow we get but id say anywere from 3min to maybe 10min if its really icy.
I normally start my car in the morning for 5-10min before i start driving to get the car up to temp and get the oil moving, and i just turn the mix on so once i get the snow off it wont be foggy
I dont have a/c on my car so i just roll my window if it gets to hot
i'm on a tight schedule in the mornings before work, i spend a max of about 5 minutes scraping off ice. anything after that i just deal with it.
i'll turn on the defrost when i get in to take off. no sense wasting money on fuel. i'll just suffer in the freezing cold till i drive far enough to warm the car up.
same with the a/c. i can handle the heat better than i can the cold. i'm a wimp when it comes to cold.
Only enough to see out the windshield, less than five minutes while the motor's idling.
Read this carefully: I use the air conditioner more in the Winter than the Summer. If ever there's ice or moisture on the inside glass, heated air conditioned air will quickly reduce the moisture level inside the car.
QVC had one this summer. ck their website
There are products that are designed to protect hair from heat damage. Try VO5 they have some heat protectors that you spray on before you blow dry.
I would let hair air dry first, untill its just damp underneath, If you do it this way you will only need the blow dryer for a couple minutes. Never try to blowdry dripping wet hair.
towel dry
comb out
air dry
add a few silk drops and blow dry
Hey grl,
Try John Frieda's Hair serum...its great it keeps the frizz down and protects your hair. and its not to expensive.
Or you can Try bio silk's hair serum its great too.
