THE FAN RUNNING 24 / 7 IS CHEAPER THAN THE A.C. COMPRESSOR CYCLING . WANT TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE ? HAVE SOMEONE TURN BOTH ON AND OFF WHILE YOU WATCH THE METER RUN . WHEN THE FAN GOES ON -----YOU WON'T SEE THE DIFFERENCE , BUT WHEN THE A.C. COMPRESSOR KICKS IN THE METER WILL JUMP AND RUN FAST .
The fan running should be cheaper.
The fan might be cheaper, but you ain't gonna be cool with it.
A whole house fan is definitely cheaper, but your air handler fan probably is as well - read the labels on each to find out the watts used. Then do the same for your condensing unit on your AC. Also, do what the person here said about watching the meter. And ignore the person who said you wouldn't be cool. When using a whole house fan, open some low windows (on the first floor or basement) and then turn on the whole house fan - which should be in the attic. The house will cool, and your skin will cool due to evaporation/transpiration, and so on . . . If your air handler is in the basement, take the coverpanels off and let the cooler basement air be circulated through the system - we do this sometimes to get the cool basement air up to the warm and stuffy second floor.
To get the hard evidence, read the Solar House, by Daniel Chiras - Chelsea Green Publishers and go to the chapter on passive cooling.
If you mean an attic fan, then yes it will help keep you cooler and it uses much less electricity than an AC unit. It will drop the temp in your attic a lot which keeps that heat from seeping into your house. But an attic fan alone won't keep you comfortable on a hot day, you'll need other fans or an AC unit. The AC won't need to run nearly as much so overall you'll save a good deal of electricity while still staying comfortable. Setting your thermostat to 78 or higher will save you even more and with a fan it's hard to tell the difference.
$2000.00 is a lot of difference. They cant be quoting the same efficiency and maybe the lower one is leaving out something.
Get another quote or get a better explanation of what is being quoted.
surprise... do it yourself..... buy a new condenser and system.. this is outside.. before we do any thing i want you to get a starter set of tools from sears and roebuck.. first there is a electric disconnect switch outside.. turn it to the off position and pad lock it.. then open it up take the wires off that goto the unit... next look at the unit it will have a fan on top and somewhere on the unit you will find a id tag.. the manufacturer and the size and part. number.. i want you to go to the plumbing supply and buy a replacement for this .they will deliver free after it is deliver.. uncrate it put it side by side and just attach the wires like the old one there will be a pipe coming out that circulates the refrigerant.. disconnect this and put is aside.. put the new unit on the concrete base connect the pipe and hook up the electric.. now all you have to do is unlock the electric . turn the switch to on.. and now you are in busines.. you just saved 2 thousand dollars.. buy now the coolant has circulated and the cool air should be comming out of the vents.. with the savings take a vacation to the dominican republic punta cana.. ok gilermo
You need approx. a 2.5 ton unit, give more details of each quote and don't do-it-yourself.
I know someone who works for Thompson and i Know they overcharge. Do you know what's wrong with the unit and what needs to be fixed? I might be able to get you the part for cheaper and have someone else put it in for free. :D
No doubt the samsung one satisfies all your demands.
I am personally selected it for my buy in the next 3 months.
Some Christians do those things. The Amish
No, we're not that mean.
Or how about just restrict them from using things based on evolutionary science? like the flu vaccine, or new TB treatments.
There may be something in the duck work. That has die. Perhaps you need change the filters. And if a humitficer. It may need to be clear out. Or it could an ozone from the AC unit. Which will go away when the weather drys out. Even a ice box will to it.
even i have noticed it in one of my friends house ...
1.the room should be kept opened when the ac is not used .
2.should service the ac regularly.
3.background of the ac should not contain any drainage or ....
try n see .......
sounds like smelly sock syndrome, if so you need to clean and disinfect your evaporator and drain pan.
Air Conditioners condensate during the cooling process within the indoor unit. When the cycle is reversed to Heating the coil is then warm and dry, evaporating the moisture, this is when the smells are even more apparent.
The same affect can happen when the air conditioning system is introduced into the cooling cycle as it 'washes' and evaporates the dirt and bacteria built up during the off or heating period.
With time and fresh air this will go away, or you can opt for services like the Ample Anti-Bacterial Air Conditioning Treatment, reassuring the removal of bacteria as well as those nasty smells.

Temperature fluctuations are not great for your tv, I just bought an lcd yesterday and the owners manual said not to because it will mess the sound up, make a noise from within the tv when turned on or off.
The really cold air around air vents can cause condensation (moisture) to form. Under extremely humid conditions, you can actually create droplets of moisture around the vents. The moisture is not good for the electronics.
It depends on the company, everyone charges differently. Some can be between 40-100/hr. Just call around to your local HVAC companies and they will give you an estimate.
Locating small leaks in central air conditoners takes time. the leak can be in the A coil, the lineset, the outside unit or the connections. It takes time and time is charged by the hours.
Call 2 or 3 HVAC companies and ask.
yes..this is not the case when using the heat though
I was told that it wastes the same as driving with your windows down
Yes, belts that run the AC kinda suck some power from the motor. Also, since you lack a bit of power people tend to have to give it more gas to drive the same way as they would without the AC on so that uses a bit more gas. This would be more noticable on low power 4 cylinder motors.
yes, the ac does require gas. but i read once that the amount of gas lost using the ac may be equal to the amount of gas lost driving with the windows open (ac off). when your windows are open, your car is less aerodynamic, therefore requiring more energy (gas) to move.
yes it makes a little difference, anything that takes power away from the engine will make it use a slight bit more gas,but its not as bad on the newer cars as it was the older cars, and when your on the road at cruising speeds it doesn't make that much of a difference, you may loose a few miles to a tank full on the newer ones, good luck.
Slightly more. Not as noticeable as people lead you to believe. There is more drag on the engine when in use. Roll down the windows when you are traveling less than 45 MPH, and use the AC when you are at highway speeds.
yes, the heater is free.
Hop in the car, turn off the stereo, roll down the windows, turn off the A/C, and then turn on the car. Now, turn on the A/C, with the fan all the way down, as low as it can go, and pay attention to the sounds the car makes. You will probably hear the engine make a change in noise.
This change in noise is the engine working harder to run the A/C compressor, which is what provides the cool that the fan blows air by. You might also notice the engine noise changing when you click on your rear-defroster. Some cars require that little extra power to heat the back window.
When you run your heat in the car, the heat isn't provided by an extra part, such as the A/C compressor. Instead, the heat is provided directly from the engine, typically by blowing the air past a heater-coil that is heated by, often, the anti-freeze in your radiator.
On a hot day, stuck in traffic, if you notice your temp-gauge on the dashboard rising into the red, a quick hint is to turn off everything non-essential, roll down the windows, and turn ON the heater. This will help pull heat from the engine. Downside of that is, it blows it on you.
AC yes it decreases your mileage a little how much depends on your car. A 4Cly car will drop more than a V8 most of the time anyway. No change using Heat unless you use the defroster that uses the compressor like the AC does.
i really cant see any difference and i did it both ways.
I read a column about this where they tested this theory... They said that when you are driving in town (30 mph)you get better mileage with the windows down compared to the air conditioning on. But when you get out on the highway the air conditioning got better mileage than the windows down ( all comes down to air turbulence being higher at the higher speed) The heat does not use more fuel because all you are doing is blowing air across a heater core (looks like a tiny radiator) that has hot antifreeze running through it to generate heat. Where the air conditioning actually uses a pump that is driven off the engine, anytime more drag is put on the engine it will use slightly more fuel.
yes... It causes the engine to work harder because of the resistance it causes when the compressor is engaged. Its like climbing a hill... Its easier when you don't carry a heavy backpack. You will burn more energy with it than without.
The ac uses a belt to run the compressor. This belt is driven by the engine which cause drag and requires more gas to keep the same rpms or speed. With heat the engine is already putting out heat no matter if you run the heater or not. When you run the heater you are just using residual heat that will be wasted anyway.
Yes definetely. When you use the AC in your car, you are causing the coolant to circulate more, which causes the engine to work harder, ultimately causing more gas usage.
Nobody will say it, but yes, your mileage will drop 1-2 mpg the ac pump draws 10-15 horsepower away from your engine... you'll really notice it going up hills..
My hair is also like that. Wash your hair every 2 days, shampoo and condition. Then the next day condition only. Once a week leave in ur conditioner (as a treatment).
Try conditioning your hair with a conditioner shampoo. Its safe to use everyday. I do it and my hair is nice, and I know its safe. Also, if you want you can get a everyday use shampoo. I have one it says its safe for everyday, and whatever they write in warnings or whatever hasa to be true! :p good luck, hope you get your beautiful hair! :)?
i wouldn't wash my hair everyday and i would get some type of hot oil treatment and use only one brand hair product. Like the one i use olive oil.
Do not wash your hair everyday. You're hair will just break off. I suggest washing it ever 3 days and use Cream of Nature shampoo. It is very conditioning. Pure olive oil.
Hi- I would recommend using a high quality shampoo, preferably an all natural one, a high quality conditioner, natural hair oils for a healthy scalp, and an all natural daily moisturizing lotion, cream, or serum. Check out these websites wwwdiscoverb4acom or wwwcarolsdaughtercom. You should also include a monthly hot oil treatment and protein treatments.
Shampoo Your Hair Regularly. As an African American you must protect against dry hair, but you also have to protect against an unhealthy, clogged, and dirty scalp. You need to wash your hair at least once per week. It is best to use all natural hair care products that contain natural oils. after shampooing and rinsing your hair, gently ring your hair to remove excess water. Towel blot your hair dry, and use a quality hair lotion before applying heat. Do not rub the towel up and down your hair. This will result in breakage and splitting. If using a deep penetrating conditioner, just gently remove the excess water from your hair.
Find the Right Conditioner
Instant or Leave In Conditioners are great for African American hair, because they coat and give the hair body and shine rapidly. However, they often contain silicones, which make the hair look shiny, but also seal the cuticles and coat the strand so much that additional moisture is unable to penetrate the hair strand. I recommend that you use hair lotion or leave in conditioners. Try to choose an all natural hair lotion that has EFAs and natural oils.
Style your hair from home section your hair into even parts. Apply Olive or Jojoba oil directly to the scalp. Then follow with a hair lotion or leave-in conditioner, and style. Everyday you need to treat your hair just as well as you did the moment you walked out of the salon.
And, don't forget to pay close attention to the ends of your hair. African American needs a lot of moisture at the ends. When conditioning your hair, or even applying protein treatments or hair lotion, make sure you target those hair ends.
Good luck!
easy fix, buy a 1989 mercedes
2 moving parts I know of that could be making the noise is either the blower motor or airconditioning compressor. Both can be fixed by replacement. Blower motor is pretty hard to get to if it is 300E or 260E.
I guess I have a spiteful little desire to see creationists turned away from medical advances that came, in part due to evolutionary biology but I don't know that its that humane.
Why can't they all just go off and die on some amish farm?
75% of Christians are Roman Catholic and for the most part these know evolution is a part of life. When I was in Catholic School 50 years ago many of the Nuns taught us that Creation is from the Bible and did not think we should know from the Bible how long ago the world was created. Science was for this.
The idea that all revealed truth is to be found in "66 books" is not only not in Scripture, it is contradicted by Scripture (1 Corinthians 11:2, 2 Thessalonians 2:15, 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 1 Timothy 3:15, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Peter 3:16).
i'm sorry but this is a really stupid and somewhat offensive question. a belief in the creation of the world has nothing to do with science that we need in order to live. that's technology not the origin of life, belief in a creator, or what happens when we die. think before you ask a question like this.
The difference is repeatable science and 'theories' or non-repeatable science.
These theories may be truth to you -
The Bible is truth to me -
Wow, you are out there on this one. What does Evolution Vs Creationism have to do with this? God gave us the ability and the authority to use elements on Earth to better ourselves. He wants science and His Word to work together for a common good. Scientists discover things that they do because God created the elements with which to do it. Without His help, science would have nothing to discover.
The same thing goes for Medical Science. Those beliefs that say only to cure the sick and injured through prayer, and no medical help are not Biblical. God doesn't want people to die that don't have to.
How old are you, eight. Where have you heard or read all Christians don't accept evolution? Funny because I was watch CSPAN Book TV, which isn't dumb enough for you to watch, I guess, and watched and listed to a Catholic Cardinal defend evolution and science.
This would also mean there is no such thing as a Christian scientist as well. Do you see the lack of logic in your idea, which only makes sense to a junior high school mind.
Evolution - Explanation for how the universe adapts to itself dependent on potentiality (which is inherent to creation)
God - Explanation of how life came about in the universe (source of creation)
They are not polarizing concepts at all.
Science, is the study of God's creation. God made man in His image, we are little creators. We can't create life, but we have used God's created materials and our God given intelligence to create many, many things including the few you have mentioned in your question. He also gave doctors their ability to tend to the sick, God still does the healing through the doctors.
I am thankful God gave us brains and the ability to enjoy science to make life more comfortable.
considering that this is sypposed to be a free country and religion shouldnt have anything to do with what people are allowed and not allowed to do or be, then christians should be allowed to be what they want. true christians believe that god answeres prayers, but you could also say that the technology could be the answer from god, and if that doesnt work, then obviously the answer was NO. some christians dont believe in medicine , but most do because it is an advantage that will better the people. Christians arent as bad and forcing and rude as you make them out to be. they arent that demanding and i think that they should be treated like any athiest, budhist, muslim, catholic, or any other religion/ cult/ belife or lifestlyles that are out there
* hope this helps*
Last time I checked, air conditioners, refrigerators, cars, and medicine did not relate to evolution.
If you look at a history of science, you will discover that it has been wrong about many things over the centuries. For example, science use to teach that the world was flat. The church picked up that idea form them. Doctors use to bleed patients because it was thought that having too much blood was bad for you. Science use to try to cure many diseases by rubbing the person with dung. At one point the institutionalized a doctor because he insisted that washing his hands between patients reduced the spread of diesease.
Just because science has been wrong about something, we do not have to reject that things that it is right about.
Just because a Christian believes that science is wrong in one of its many theories about the development of human life, does not mean that they have to reject all the thousands of things that science is right about.
If you actually took the time to read the Bible, you would find that nearly 1/4 of the Old Testament laws deal with sanitation, dietary and other medical related issues. It instruction people to use medicine when sick. Jesus said that "the sick have need of a doctor". The apostle Paul traned with a physician, and told his disciple Timothy to use a little wine as a medicine for his frequent stomach problems. So if a Christian accepts the ENTIRE Bible, then he has to accept medical science and doctors to obey the Bible.
LOL, what sense does that make? Seriously, do people actually think about questions before they ask them anymore? Evolution hasn't been proven, but last I heard ACs and electricity has. I guess by your reasoning then you shouldn't be alive seeing as how the idea of treating other people with courtesy and respect and "thou shalt not kill" came from the bible and not from science. So if we didn't have those moral laws you probably would have been killed years ago for speaking out of your A$$. LMAO, YA is always good for at least one laugh a day, thanks for being that laugh.
no one said science is ungodly, we thank God for science, we can't help it if science goes astray every once in a while
scientists tend to scientifically give answers to things that scientifically can' be proven
that's all!
Faulty premise - only some Christians believe in the inerrant truth of the entire Bible, and they've never really dealt effectively with the varying translations.
It's odd to think that scientists would be the gatekeepers for medical services, ownership of technological devices, etc.
However, I agree that there's some irony in young-earthers flying to a conference to make a PowerPoint presentation on how one branch of science (evolutionary biology) is all wrong because its central theoretical basis has not answered all questions yet posed in that field.
Have these people studied much fluid dynamics? And yet they get on planes!
Our understanding of conductivity has changed in recent decades. Why do these people feel free to use silicon chips?
More people should check out James Burke (Connections, The Day the Universe Changed) about the ways science, technology, culture, politics, economics, etc. are connected and have changed through time.
We Christian,s do use science and it,s good to a point
we just do not believe in the big bang,or evolution
however we believe that God created this earth and everything in it,,but we do not deny you thing,s of the
earth so ,,how,s that being fair.
this sounds like a hormonal imbalance. you might want to see a doctor. if you are anorexic, malnourished, do certain types of drugs, or even just exercise a lot- that could offset your natural rhythm of hormones - making your period off. it also could be a different issue- your thyroid- because you are hot, have insomnia and headaches- you might have a high thyroid level. these symptoms really sound like they are bothering you- it makes me think you should really probably see a doctor.
good luck!
Go and see a doctor for a blood test, get them to test for pregnancy and your hormone levels as well. Then you'll know for sure. I got a neg on hpt, got a blood test same day and it turned out i was preg but sadly had a miscarriage a few days later. Good luck!
THis happened to me a few times when I was TTC. I think that I wanted it so much that my body thought that it was. I am now three months pregnant and VERY excited.
hmm.. bit weird lol
had one install no problem held great
the window only provides the opening.. the support of the airconditioner is achieved by a brace that attaches on the bottom of the airconditioner.. and rests on the house..
http://www.gonecamping.net/pages/windowunit.html
if you read the above look at the pictures observe the pieces of metal that are on the botttom of the unit that go on an angle to the wall of the house or window base ok
The herb Mint would love all that water but it would grow like mad and over run your garden.
Why not but a large bucket/container under the drip and use the water to water your plants or put in the wash.
Try a bog garden. Here's how:
http://pondlady.com/Articles/bog_garden.html
I have large outside ferns that sit there in large pots ones get satuated just change it out.And if they are plenty wet then I just put a bucket and let it drip,to use elsewhere. The ferns work well mine got nearly 4 feet across, don't impede the air conditioner and looks great!
Kimberlin Queen Fern would love the water but plant far enough away so as not to block the ac.
I had this exact problem. What I did to fix it was this. Dig a hole about a foot down and about 6 inches wide or so where it's dripping out and fill it with a bag of pea gravel. I haven't had any problems with water at all since then.
sounds like a bad switch.
sorry don;t know sq. meters, but know sq. ft. 1 ton (12,000) BTU for each 600 sq. ft 8 ft. ceiling so LG 18000 is one and 1/2 tons enough for about 900 sq. ft HOPE THAT HELPS !!!!
Yes
Just search the net for "compact window air conditioner"
Here is an 18 1/2:
http://www.compactappliance.com/xq/JSP.detailmain/Haier_6_000_BTU_Window_Air_Conditioner_w__Remote_Control/itemID.19839/itemType.PRODUCT/iMainCat.23/iSubCat.39/iProductID.19839/qx/shopping/product/HWR06XC7.htm
You put up the panels on the sides to close off the rest of the window.
Yes. You need a vertical unit. They are slim and taller than the other type. Mostly made for windows that slide sideways.
When you shop either take a tape measure with you and ask, or read the box.
